Da Vinci Technical Senior Secondary School was established on 18th August 2009 by the quest of the community of Nemasu Layout and the surrounding to establish an institution that will help student leaving grade nine, (Junior Secondary School), to be enrolled in senior secondary school.
It was first established as a vocational training center in 1995. The school has developed a reputation of excellence and attracts a high caliber of teaching staff. In 2009, the ministry of Basic and Secondary education licensed and approved the school to operate as a Senior Technical Secondary School. The school is also recognized by the West African Examination Council and has approved as an examination center. The school was able to build a strong relationship with Da Vinci College in Holland which raised the standard of the school.
Da Vinci Senior Secondary and Upper Basic School seeks to reduce illiteracy in children and thus enhance positivity and prosperity in them. It further endeavours to create conducive environment that will provide relevant national and international knowledge and skills that would provide ever-growing opportunities for the students.
Da Vinci Senior and Upper Basic School was founded by the Late Mohamed Lamin Kandeh with the support of the Da Vinci Mission, Holland. Ever since its inception, the mission statement has always been, to give equal opportunities to students, especially those who may have been denied enrolments or other services in other schools perhaps based on their performances or status. These neglected students would be trained and impacted with knowledge and skills good enough for them to adequately compete with their peers who may have been selected by other schools with the belief that they are perhaps the bests for education and society.
